| Each
year, New Bethel Baptist Church offers scholarships from various sources
to members of the church who are pursuing educational opportunities
offered by a post secondary educational institution, e.g.
vocational/technical school, community college or four-year college.
Eligibility for scholarships is determined by the Scholarship
Committee of the Youth
Council.
Funds for scholarships come from
individual member contributions, church organizations, from memorials in
memory of the deceased and numerous other sources. Scholarships
currently available are:

Church Scholarship Aid Award
Criteria and
Guidelines for application are listed below:
 | Must be actively
affiliated with New Bethel Baptist Church for a minimum of two years
and not a member of another church. |
 |
Must be a graduating
high school senior |
 |
Must be accepted by
a Vocational/Technical school or 2 / 4 year institution. |
 |
Must verify
enrollment and attendance at the institution of higher learning. |
 | Must submit a
completed scholarship application. |
 | Each recipient
will receive equal amounts. |
 | The Financial Aid
amount will not exceed $500. |
 | The pool of funds
to be used each year for awards will come from the total amount
collected for scholarships during each fiscal year (November 1st
- October 31st). Of the amount collected 80% will be allocated
for high school graduates and 20% set aside for previous graduates
that might experience need. |
The Douglas James
Shell Memorial Scholarship Award
and the
Sallie Shell Memorial
Scholarship Award
These two scholarship
awards are donated annually by the Shell Family in memory of their
parents, the late Deacon Douglas James Shell and his wife, Mrs. Sallie
Shell. Each of the scholarships is in the amount of $1,000.
Criteria for eligibility include:

The Ceasar Family
Scholarship
Criteria for eligibility for the Ceasar
Family Scholarship
All applicants for the Ceasar Family
Education Assistance must:

scholarship committee. |

The amount of the Ceasar Family Scholarship
shall be $1,000 annually. This amount ($1,000) shall be given to one
student,, or divided among two students who meet the requirements ($500)
each.
Gerald Pauling, Sr. Memorial
Education Aid Award (MEAA)
All applicants for the Gerald L. Pauling,
Sr. MEAA must:

Be an active member of New Bethel
Baptist Church; |
 |
Be a graduating high school senior or
acquire a GED equivalent; |
 |
Be accepted by a vocational/technical
school, community college, or four year institution; |
 |
Verify enrollment at any aforementioned
institution of higher learning; |
 |
Submit an application to the church or
scholarship committee; and |
 |
Submit a short summary of future plans
and goals. |
The amount of the Gerald L. Pauling, Sr.
MEAA shall be $1,000 annually. This amount ($1,000) shall be given
to one student, or divided among students who meet the requirements.
